Elizabeth Morgan Brett, fondly known as Liz, joined Moreton Bay College in 1991 as a member of Whitfield House. Throughout her schooling, she was a committed and versatile athlete, representing the College in swimming, touch football, table tennis, softball, tennis and later volleyball. Her leadership emerged early and she served as Whitfield House Captain in 1995.
Liz’s talent in volleyball led to national representation, competing for the Australian Under 19 team in 1994 and 1995. Five years after graduating, she achieved a significant career milestone when she represented Australia at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, the result of years of intensive training and dedication.
Beyond her sporting achievements, Liz pursued further study at the University of Technology Sydney where she completed an Executive Master of Business Administration. Her professional career has included senior leadership roles such as Chief Executive of ActivateUTS and Non Executive Director of UniSport Australia. She also contributes her expertise in governance as a Director on the Board of Governors at Moreton Bay College.
Liz is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Aboriginal Investment Group, where she works to improve opportunities and outcomes for Indigenous Australians. Her commitment is deeply informed by her upbringing in North Queensland, where she witnessed inequities firsthand and developed a lifelong drive to contribute to meaningful social change.
Elizabeth Morgan Brett exemplifies the values of excellence, leadership and service represented by the Moreton Bay College Medal. Her achievements across sport, education, governance and community impact continue to inspire current and future generations of MBC students.
