We're proud to reveal our College Master Plan, a visionary strategy aiming to transform our campus over the next 30 years.
Developed in partnership with Novum Architects, this plan is our roadmap to enriching the educational experience through advanced facilities and infrastructure, while upholding the well-being of our community and our core values.
Our design philosophy emphasizes flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a strong sense of community. These spaces are not just physical locations but environments that embody the values we teach, designed to nurture creativity, collaboration, and excellence. They will serve as a vibrant hub for students, staff, parents, and visitors, reflecting MBC's nurturing culture and commitment to a rich learning experience.
As we move forward, we invite you to join us on this transformative journey to create a campus that is not only prepared for the future but continues to inspire, educate, and empower for generations to come.
The proposed forecourt and entrance plaza will create a place for connecting, and gathering, welcoming students, staff, parents, and visitors and showcasing MBC’s authentic, compassionate culture and rich learning environment.
Drawing inspiration from MBC’s existing architecture, Novum have weaved existing patterns (in particular the historical balustrade panel design and blue stone walls) into new architecture in a contemporary way, marking the importance of certain spaces and precincts, and creating a sense of cohesion across the campus.
The refurbished OHH will feature; Senior Study Area, Glazed walls, shop-front styled windows, flexible university-styled learning spaces, function rooms and servery allowing the OHH to once again function as the premier function space in the heart of the College.

The introduction of our new Creativity and Arts Centre marks an exciting expansion in our campus's artistic and educational capabilities. This state-of-the-art facility features specialized classrooms dedicated to dance, drama, visual arts, and design and technology, each space thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity and innovation. These areas are equipped with the latest resources and technologies to support a wide range of artistic disciplines, allowing students to explore and excel in their chosen fields.
In addition to these dedicated spaces, the centre also includes additional flexible learning areas. These versatile spaces are adaptable to various teaching methods and learning styles, providing an ideal environment for interdisciplinary projects and collaborative learning. The Creativity and Arts Centre is not just a building; it's a dynamic hub where artistic talents are nurtured, and creative boundaries are pushed, fostering a vibrant culture of artistic excellence and exploration.

Primary dropoff zone
As part of our ongoing commitment to safety and accessibility within The Moreton Bay Colleges, our Master Building Plan includes a significant upgrade to the Hargreaves Road entrance. This enhancement is specifically designed to improve the safety of our youngest students by streamlining access and increasing security measures. The redesign will feature advanced traffic management solutions and pedestrian pathways, ensuring a safer, more controlled environment for drop-offs and pickups. By modernizing this key entry point, we are not only prioritizing the wellbeing of our students but also enhancing the overall functionality and aesthetic appeal of the college entrance, reinforcing a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all members of our community.
While we celebrate the completion of our latest Master Building Plan, it does not signify an end to our commitment to past initiatives. At The Moreton Bay Colleges, we remain dedicated to enhancing the student experience and ensuring the enduring legacy of our institution through ongoing upgrade projects and improvements.
The College's Master Plan features several essential infrastructure projects to be rolled out over the next 20-30 years. We plan to start the first stage, including obtaining Council approvals and conducting community consultations, in 2024. The construction of Phase one is expected to be completed in 2026.
The Master Plan, developed collaboratively by Novum and The Moreton Bay Colleges, allows for phased implementation. We aim to fund each project through a combination of savings and borrowings. Some projects might also include fundraising efforts within the broader College community.
The Master Plan is not aimed at increasing student numbers. Its primary focus is on enhancing our state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities, implementing a comprehensive transport and safety strategy, bolstering infrastructure for the physical and emotional wellbeing of students and staff, and establishing a robust environmental sustainability framework.
While major construction projects typically involve some disruptions, the meticulous design by Novum aims to minimize these impacts. The College will provide advance notice of any significant developments and will work closely with both the College and local communities to ensure thoughtful consideration and minimal disruption.
