Jo Matherson brings extensive experience and a distinguished career in education, marked by exceptional leadership, a dedication to academic excellence, and a strong focus on student
well-being and community engagement. She holds a Master of Education (eLearning, 2021), a Graduate Diploma in Education (1994), and a Bachelor of Science (1993), all from the University of New England.

Her professional journey includes:

• Deputy Principal at Somerville House since 2020, serving as Interim Head of Boarding in Term 1, 2023.
• Leadership roles at The Glennie School (2016–2019), including Deputy Principal, Acting Principal, and Head of Middle School.
• Eleven Years at PLC Armidale (2005-2015), serving as Acting Head of School, Head of Senior School, Head of Science & PDHPE, and Gifted and Talented Coordinator.
• Beginning her career at Uralla Central School (1995-2005) as a Science and Maths Teacher and Environmental Education Coordinator.
