Marcia joins MBC with a strong background in both curriculum and pedagogy, and the pastoral care of students. Marcia previously held the position as the Assistant Principal Teaching and Learning (P-12) at Haileybury Rendall School in Darwin, where she has demonstrated curriculum leadership and quality learning outcomes for students. Prior to this role, Marcia was in a Head of Department role at Haileybury in Melbourne for nine years, and previously held both a Head of Department and a Head of House role in her time at The Knox School in Melbourne.
Having held various roles in the VCAA (Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority) from Chief Assessor to External Examination Assessor, Marcia brings a wealth of experience in the provision of curriculum and assessment programs for students, employing data analytics processes to enhance teaching and learning. Marcia also has demonstrated a strong commitment to providing VET pathways for students in their Senior years.
Marcia holds a deep connection to student-centred approaches, and with extensive secondary school experience, she recognises the importance of a holistic educational journey which promotes a lifelong love of learning.
I believe in making a difference in the lives of young women, their families and the broader community; playing a significant role in developing the future female leaders of our country; building strong community and connections; and leading with values to empower staff, including developing relationships, building trust, and demonstrating kindness and passion.
A published author, Marcia is currently writing for Cengage, a leading provider of traditional and digital learning materials for the university and vocational markets in Australia and New Zealand.
