Music plays an important role in the lives of The Moreton Bay Colleges. Moreton Bay College and Moreton Bay Boys’ College share a proud culture of music and we are known in the broader community as having vibrant, diverse, quality music programmes.
Primary Immersion
Students are introduced to music performance through the Music Immersion Programme that is embedded within the curriculum at each campus. Students elect to play an orchestral or band instrument and are guided in this learning by specialist permanent staff.
The programme’s goal is to foster a love of ensemble performance through a completely hands-on and practical music making experience.
Music Ensembles
Active participation in our music programmes offers students social interaction, self-confidence, teamwork skills, aesthetic appreciation, and academic growth. Beyond extrinsic benefits, our Music Programme cultivates intrinsic joy and connectedness, reflecting our co-curricular philosophy of Explore, Participate, Grow, Lead, and Belong.
Music Tuition
Developing musical competence requires expert guidance, provided at The Moreton Bay Colleges by specialist music teachers offering lessons to students from Prep to Year 12. Tuition is available for all orchestral and contemporary instruments, including wind, brass, woodwind, percussion, string, piano, guitar and voice.
