Our Year 11 student, Jessica, was recognised as one of only eight students in Queensland to receive the Premier’s Anzac Prize. As part of the award, Jessica embarked on a two-week journey through Europe, culminating in the Gallipoli Dawn Service on Anzac Day. All in all, an extraordinary opportunity to explore the history, sacrifice, and legacy of Australia’s servicemen and women.
Along the way, she visited significant historical sites including Ypres, Harefield, Amiens, Bullecourt, Villers-Bretonneux and Monquet Farm, deepening her understanding of the Anzac story and the courage of those who served.
Jessica also placed commemorative crosses at key memorial sites and was warmly welcomed by local schools throughout the tour, with the group even featured in the Ypres newspaper. An unforgettable experience of reflection, remembrance, and connection.
