A vibrant music programme

Music is delivered as a shared programme across Moreton Bay College and Moreton Bay Boys’ College, drawing on the resources and expertise of both campuses to provide students with strong educational and performance opportunities. The current programme includes class music, instrumental and vocal tuition, ensembles and performance.

Music for every stage

Class music is available across all year levels and gives students regular opportunities to listen, perform and compose. The programme is practical, active and designed to support a smooth transition from Primary into Secondary music learning.

In Years 4 and 5, all students take part in the Instrumental Immersion Programme, a two-year experience that includes weekly small-group lessons and class ensemble activities.

Students may also access private instrumental and vocal tuition from Prep to Year 12, supported by skilled specialist teachers.

Performing together

The ensemble programme gives students the opportunity to rehearse, perform and grow as part of a musical community.

The Colleges currently offer over 30 performing ensembles across both campuses. Through weekly rehearsals and regular performances, students develop technical skills, confidence and a lasting appreciation for music.

Music with purpose

Music at MBC is about more than performance.

It helps girls set goals, work with others and develop the confidence to contribute their voice. Here, talent is nurtured, effort is valued and a love of music can flourish.
