Dance Troupes

MBC offers Primary (Years 3–6), Junior (Years 7–9) and Secondary (Years 10–12) dance troupes. These groups perform at College events and compete in eisteddfods across South East Queensland in styles including Contemporary, Jazz and Lyrical. Through rehearsal and performance, students develop technique, teamwork and stage presence.

Drama

Drama at MBC gives students the opportunity to develop confidence, creativity and skill through performance, collaboration and theatrical production.

One of the highlights of the programme is the College’s major stage production, held every second year. Open to all Secondary students through audition, it is presented to a professional standard and offers opportunities not only in performance, but also in choreography, lighting, sound and set design.

Musical Theatre

The Musical Theatre production is a highlight of College life and is held every second year. Open to all Secondary students through audition, it is presented to a professional standard with opportunities not only in performance, but also in choreography, lighting, sound and set design.

Highland Dancing

Available to girls in Years 3 to 12, Highland Dancing is a distinctive part of the performing arts offering at MBC. It develops technique, stamina and strength, while building discipline and confidence through regular practice and performance.

At MBC, girls are encouraged to express themselves boldly, support one another generously and take pride in the process as much as the performance.
