Moreton Bay College was proud to celebrate the unveiling of the Vicki Wilson OAM Courts, honouring one of Australian netball’s most accomplished athletes and an enduring role model for generations of students.
This special occasion recognised the extraordinary career of Vicki Wilson OAM, whose achievements in netball are nothing short of remarkable. From first playing the sport at the age of seven, Vicki went on to captain the Australian team and earn 104 test caps. Her distinguished career includes three World Championship gold medals and Australia’s first-ever Commonwealth Games gold medal in netball. Widely regarded as the world’s leading goal shooter of the 1990s, her precision, consistency and dedication set a standard of excellence admired across the sport.
Beyond her international success, Vicki’s impact at Moreton Bay College has been profound. Over several decades as a coach, teacher and mentor, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the College’s sporting culture, instilling values of resilience, teamwork and self-belief in countless students. Her influence continues both locally and internationally through ongoing leadership roles in coaching and athlete development.
The Vicki Wilson OAM Courts are more than a sporting facility; they stand as a lasting tribute to her passion, perseverance and commitment to excellence. For generations to come, students will train in this space inspired by the legacy and standards she has set.
